Sustainability Library

The Green Garage’s Urban Sustainability Library was developed to provide an informational role to the community at large. We are responsible for any online content coming from the Green Garage, whether it be the website, our sustainability reporting, or any of our social media pages. We are also a small lending library, collecting books pertaining to the topics of sustainability, business, and Detroit. The library, located near the entrance to the Green Garage, is open to all from 8:00-5:00, Monday through Friday.

Our Goals

We believe that in order to make more sustainable choices, individuals and organizations need access to relevant information. Our goal is to provide that information in a way that suits each customer. Some of that information can be accessed in our book collection, some on our archival wiki pages, and some can be researched by the individuals at the library. We respond to requests that come to our e-mail account, greengaragedetroit@gmail.com.

Book Lending Program

Anyone can check out a book from our library, whose collection is focused on sustainability, business, and Detroit. We have check-out and check-in forms on the library desk. There is no specific due date for returns, but if a book is out more than a few months, you will receive an e-mail from the library as a reminder to return it. See the table below to browse the collection, organized by subject. (Click here to open the list in a new window.)
